Are we allowed to bring our dogs?

Dogs are not allowed in the adventure playground, except for guide dogs (but must be kept on a lead at all times).

Dogs on leads are permitted at the boating lake but are not permitted on the beach or on the boats or kayaks.

Is there free parking?

Yes, there is ample free parking. 

Can you bring a picnic?

Picnics are only permitted in designated areas. Food and drink brought on to the premises must not be consumed elsewhere, including inside and outside the main cafés, bar and restaurant. 

Do adults need to pay to enter the adventure playground and boating lake area?

No, but you still need to book a free ticket in advance.

Do I need to pay for boat hire?

Yes. Boat hire is not free of charge for either adults or children. Please see our terms and conditions and waiver form to be signed at the time of booking and before entering the hire boat.

I have a young child (under 8). Can I take them on the kayak with me?

No. This is strictly prohibited. Only one person 8 and over is permitted on a kayak at any one time. 

Can dogs go on the row boat or kayak?

No. Dogs are not permitted at the boating lake or on the boats. 

Is ther car park near to the adventure playground or boating lake?

The adventure playground and boating lake are within a 5-10 minute walking distance over uneven ground via the adventure play area and we may be able to take people in a buggy to the boating lake if requested and subject to availability. 

Can I just come and hire a boat?

Yes, but you must pay for a general admission fee even if this is a free ticket.  Boat hire is strictly subject to availability if you wish to book on the day. We would advise booking in advance or calling before visiting us.

Do I need to pay to go to the boating lake?

Yes. A general admission fee free for adults but is chargeable for children.
